The Silver Tree is Jeremy F Bird's Christmas Single 2020
lyrics
The Silver Tree
The evergreen leaves are darkened now -
And hopes on their knees are no good -
Cold birch and ash both silent bow
to the whispering wind in the wood.
His backbone creaking all alone
He didn’t fall in love as he should
so this dark time he is lonely now
And he begs to the wind in the wood.
Grey to silver and the wind turns
the old year new - dark to light,
it’s Christmas time and silver burns -
leaves are aglow, and shining bright,
new love alight in the darkened night.
The wind it hums it’s silvery tune,
spinning silver from the gloom.
The wind takes his hand gently now,
He quietly pulls up his hood
And they slowly trudge through the snow
And leave no footprints in the wood.
His heart is old and eyes tired -
broken, he never understood,
and his hood falls over his eyes
but the wind it rules in the wood.
Grey to silver and the wind turns
the old year new - dark to light,
it’s Christmas time and silver burns -
leaves are aglow, and shining bright,
new love alight in the darkened night.
The wind it hums it’s silvery tune,
spinning silver from the gloom.
It lifs the cloth and there he sees,
a silvery tree so good
his heart it burns a silver flame,
and the wind brought love to the wood.
He wraps his arms around the tree,
And gradually turns to wood -
The silver courses through his veins,
Just as his love always should.
Grey to silver and the wind turns
the old year new - dark to light,
it’s Christmas time and silver burns -
leaves are aglow, and shining bright,
new love alight in the darkened night.
The wind it hums it’s silvery tune,
spinning silver from the gloom.
The wood glows with love and now
the wind whispers of how it could
take a hand and make some good
turn grey to silver in the wood.vocal: Jeremy F Bird - (the fabulous) chicken
